I buy a lot of things for ridiculous prices, but the owners
set them, not me. IMO, it is inexcusable to shaft one merchant because of
what another has done. Haggling is OK, but only if you're serious.
Otherwise, you're wasting another person's time. Last, it doesn't matter
what anyone or everyone else is doing. If it was Nazi Germany, would
that have made inhumane behavior justifiable ? Not in my opinion.
[Photo content: At a garage sale today, I saw a 3 foot long Macbeth light
table for $30 (too big for me), a 15 foot high studio view camera stand
(did not check on the price) several huge Majestic tripods w/panheads
and at least 6 various light stands and maybe 3 more with booms. Didn't
buy a thing...]
