Am I right in assuming that the number of points in the flare around
a light source is indicative of the number of blades (or more precisely
the number of corners) in the stopped-down diaphragm? I have some nice pix
at 2-8 seconds exposure, f11 with the Oly c-2000 (that would be olympus
content if not exactly OM) with serious star-shaped flaring around a bunch
of distant lights, no flare at f2.8. (note: nice in this case means clearly
showing what I'm talking about, not aesthetically pleasing.)
Just wondering
