The back of the Lens Mount Board of the Auto Bellows indeed seems to have an
internal filter thread. Its function must be to use filters when you use a lens
in
retro position. The SIF does not specify or even mention this thread, and
neither
does Pangerl's book. Maybe its instruction sheet/manual? I've measured an
internal
distance of 44mm which would indicate a 45mm thread. If you want to use it for a
ring flash, you'll need a 45->49mm step-up ring (Hama: art.nr. 14549-9).
P.S. the 55->49mm Adapter Ring that's mentioned in the (e-)SIF on the Bellows
page
(it doesn't have a separate entry) is intended to mount the 55mm/F1.2 lens (or
other 55mm threaded lenses) in retro-position. This Adaper Ring is discontinued;
you can use a normal 55->49mm step-down ring + a 49mm (UV) filter instead.
