One more low-buck level approach:
Camping stores sell small (1.3") stick-on levels in sets of 2 so RV drivers can
select
even ground to park on. One of these could be slapped on (ouch) the OM back.
(they come with double-face foam tape; cleans up w/lighter fluid... OK,
benzine for the PC.)

Here's another idea:
Get a bullseye level. They are circular with a flat-bottom. The bubble floats
to the center of a slightly domed top. Instead of placing the level on the hot
shoe, place it on the rewind knob.
