Hi, all :-)
>From time to time, a discussion of which Tamron mounts can damage the lens
sensor pin on the 4(T) bodies comes up. Thought I'd use this opportunity to
let everyone look at the guilty party. Note how the right-side screw on this
mount is equidistant from the top and bottom screws (at the 3:00 position)
and is not symmetrical with the left-hand screw. Note also the inscription on
the mount.

This is a photo of the "good" mount. The photos are from different angles,
but hopefully you can see that the right-side screw is lower down than the
one on the "bad" mount. When viewed straight-on, the right and left screws
are symmetrical, equidistant from the bottom screw. Note the inscription on
this mount: "Japan" "OL."

Disclaimer: this information is presented for educational purposes only; I
accept no liability for any damage caused by the use/misuse of either type
mount on anyone's camera. (Thought I'd throw that in due to all the
discussion about lawsuits on the list recently ;-) )
I have no financial interest in either of these sales. I have purchased from
Chris Norton previously, though, and found him to be a reputable seller.
HTH,
Greg
