>A question popped into my head while reading this.
>How many coatings does a lens surface have these days.
it varys with manufacturer, lens element, and particular lens. In other
words, as I understand it, each element within a lens may have
different numbers of coatings, and an 85mm will have different coatings
than a 24mm.
>Single coating is easy to understand. With lenses that
>do not have a mc marking or green reflection,
>could they be at least duo coated and do not reflect the same
>as fully coated lenses?
yeah, there are usually at least two coatings, one violet, the other
yellow. "single coated" is a misnomer, it should be "at least one, but
maybe two or three coated." (ALOBMTOTC) <g>
Be seeing you.
