I had the chance to see a number of aircraft from the "Confederate Air
Force" fly, incuding one of the few remaining flyable B-17's. All of the
WWII era prop fighters I've seen fly make a *much* different sound than any
modern propeller aircraft. The sound of a single B-17 was incredible. I
can only imagine what a sky full of them sounded like.
Saw a MiG-17 fly once. The loudest jet I've ever heard!
