==============================
With rangefinder cameras such as the Lieca, photon flow is limited to only
the times of the exposure, wheras an SLR will allow photon flow anytime the
lenscap is off.
==============================
Isn't light is travelling through the lens whenever the lens cap is off
regardless of whether it is hitting the front of the shutter or the
film with a leica rangefinder? Leica's have focal plane shutters,
not leaf shutters, you know. on the other hand, if you set a Leica
M camera to focus at infinity, and leave it pointing at the bright sun
with lens cap off, you are liable to burn a hole in the shutter curtain.
I've not owned one of these cameras, but I've never seen any sort
of shutter or curtain in the lens itself-- correct me if I'm wrong about
that.
