Gregg,
Usually you (if you are nearsighted) only need a distance prescription for
when your eyes are tired and you take off your contacts (i.e. at night at
home, etc). Since myops can usually see well up close, you usually can see
close work well without glasses. Hyperops (farsighted's) would need either a
bifocal or two pairs of glasses (one for distance and one for reading). All
this is hard to specify without the actual prescription...a few too many
variables here!!
