As much as I like Gary's idea, this might cause less angst...
my old Lietz table-top tripod (w/ball-head) holds neatly against a wall
or a column, and slips back into your pocket or belt (but don't fold it
up and try to go through an airport ex-ray - no sense of humor there.

I thought that was what the screw-in ballheads sold by camping outfitters were
for. Just screw into a convenient piece of wall trim and mount your OM.....
