It's a very tough call. I own the 18/3.5, 21/3.5, 24/2.8, 28/2.8, and
had a 28/3.5. All have an appropriate use, and have given me some
superb results. That said, the 21/3.5 and the 24/2.8 are the lenses
that live in my bag. The 18 is new and so far has just gotten thrown
in for special use, and I personally just prefer the f<28 perspective
when I go wide.
Worth noting, is that I wouldn't put any of these lenses in the
"avoid" category. Even the lowly 28/3.5 gave good results and was
cheap enough that Iwouldn't have worried about taking it into the
rain or in a dusty environment. Before selling it, I had seriously
considered supergluing it on hyperfocal for f/8 and using it with my
OM-10 on auto as a glorified p&s.
