No, this is a particular problem with the OM-4Ti. I understand the OM-3Ti has 
a different finish which is more durable. On the non-titanium bodies, I think 
the black finish is as durable as the chrome, but when it does begin to wear 
off, the resultant brassing is more noticeable.

I think it's mostly a fashion thing. Although lately the chrome look is 
coming back, I think.
