Gary wrote about the 24mm F2 saying he did not like the performance especially given the price. Here are few words in defense as I really like this lens over its slower sibling: The F2 aperture definitely helps me when focusing in low light. The F2 does give you some measure of DOF control which is not so true with wides generally.(pack a ND for this in bright conditions) The floating element does seem to help the close up performance. (my impression!) The light drop off is sometimes an issue but is still a good trade off given the above advantages. I find the light drop off most objectionable when using polarizing filters.
