FP technology is basically short-range, and no substitute for a high
synch speed. The pulses of the flash eat up a lot of energy, causing the
effective GN of the flash unit to plummet. It is useful, specially
for short-DOF portraits in strong light. Did OM invent FP ? I thought
they did not.
