I have read with interest the thread about the OM4 on ebay. Bidding
there is always a risk it seems. Maybe even part of the appeal - to
take a risk and get a bargain to talk about.
I have had only a few dealings with list members but have always found
them to be fair and honest (if not opinionated and sometimes eager to
take a bait on this list) ;-) I have even received batteries I reserved
before I put the check in the mail.
I wanted to mention someone on ebay who I recently dealt with that was
quite refreshing, and I would like to think might be a member of this
list. He deals with a lot of camera equipment, often OM. He goes by
Tinasgramp. Recently I was high bidder a few days into the auction for
an AC adapter for the OM flashes. Unbeknownst to me, he stopped the
auction early. I thought I had gotten a good price. He e-mailed me to
say that he had discovered a small flaw in the adapter, went on to
discribe the flaw, and offered it to me at about 1/3 the price I bid.
Fortunatly, not everyone is like Gabriel Maloul aka aaasd or 2gabe.
