Well well well, I never knew there was so much involved in B&W
printing. Good lord, first you have to deal with exposing the negative,
and then you have do it all over again for paper! And at least for
negative you have a light meter to guide you, but for paper, we're
supposed to run test strips with different exposures.
It should be fun--I'm going into the darkroom to get my hands wet on
Thursday; today I just looked around. Then you have to deal with filters
and contrast.
I'm impressed at the amount of control I can have. I supply my own paper,
but otherwise, darkrooms are open for use. Something tells me I'll end up
burning a LOT of film and paper (Tri-X and Ilford RC paper is what we're
supposed to use).
