We change the cells in our XA-2 out of fear they are *so* old they will
begin to leak. Don't know what the drain is, but it's got to be on the
order of the OM-1 or the Rollei 35/T/S. Bought the XA-2 in '84; it just
started it's third set of cells about six months ago!
You're right about new P&S. The other half's Stylus 140 eats those
expensive weird looking (Lithium?) batteries. IMHO it's not the metering
or LCD panel and the meager flash doesn't pull that much; it's the AF, zoom
lens and film wind-rewind *motors* that suck up electrons like black holes.
