I have an OM 2 S/P and it is in my opinion as reliable as any other OM
camera.
You can get it second hand just a bit more expensivly than an OM 2 N, and
the spot metering is a big advantage, IMHO. Of course an OM 4 or 4 Ti has
more spot metering facilities, but these are rarely needed, and the price
of those is somewhat higher.
I have heard of a guy who had an OM 2 S/P he called "the yo-yo camera"
because it went from him to Olympus for repairs and back all the time, but
I think you can find bad specimens of any camera. For instance, I have an
OM 4 Ti that doesn't work properly at the moment and needs repair.
So if you can find an OM 2 S/P in good shape for a reasonable price, my
advice is to go ahead and buy it.
