Good taste in brass...amateurs don't own those instruments. I would, if I
were you, while using TTL, set my meter to overexpose by one stop. This will
insure that you get good negatives with sufficient detail regardless of the
reflectance values of the scenes you are shooting (and I'll bet they are a
riot of various color temperatures). If you wish to retain some of the
ambiance of the situation, try shooting at 1/15 sec with flash and you should
get some interesting results. You will not need a tripod if you are not too
drunk or off balance. The flash will anchor the image and the slow shutter
speed with pick up the multiple light sources that your eye sees.
I hope you like the Sunpak. I have found it to be the best of the small units
that I own. I'm used to manual because my professional flashes are Lumadyne
which are all manual units. Setting manual powers (try it, you'll like the
results) is really quite easy on the Sunpak if you look at the scale and set
your aperture accordingly.
Happy holidays.
