You can also use them with telephotos to reduce minimum focusing distance while
maintaining significant lens to subject distance. This is particularly useful
when shooting small wildlife. You can see some shots of a hummingbird feeding
her chick at http://www.angelfire.com/sc/nelson1/page6.html. Here, I used the
Zuiko 300/4.5 with 31mm extension to get tight close-ups of a bird no bigger
than your thumb at a distance of 3-4 meters.
