Joseph,

How do you like the Spiratone 20/2.8?

I like the Zuiko 21/2 I recently acquired even if was quite pricey and the
effective actual aperture is probably 1/3 stop below rated. Its small,
focuses close, is razor sharp even to the far corners stopped down, and
balances very well on an OM 4Ti body. With the Tube 8 you can get some very
special close ups up to around 1/2 life size. The f/(2) aperture is handy
in full synchro mode of the F280 flash using Kodachrome 25 in the OM4 Ti.

However, mildly curious, is that the latest new Zuiko's lenses have many
more green colored layers in the total compliment of multicoated glass
surfaces. Said another way, losing a little green in the transmitted light
(since its all that's reflected), leaves the overall color bias of the
light getting to the film very slightly magenta. Thus the new Zuiko 21/2
has a moderately warm/ magenta transmission like many Nikkors, which had a
lot of green layers in their multicoated lenses for years, consistently.

I remember seeing an older a Zuiko 21/2 MC at a swap meet ~1994 and the
color mix of the coatings was totally different with more variety. So, the
more neutral balance of my 11 year old Zuiko 24/2 relative to the Zuiko
21/2 is due probably to the balance of red, green, violet colored surfaces
in reflection.
