Yep, quite common with OM-1s (and for that matter, with every other
metered-through-the-lens SLR of that vintage). I usually try to get a sense of
how much error the light spill causes, and then adjust for it. My eyecup only
gives limited relief for the problem, and I oftentimes don't use it at all.
Also a good argument for buying an incident/direct light meter for separate
use. Hmmmmm, Christmas is coming...
