A diopter will increase your accuracy, not to mention enjoyment, of the
OM-1 immensely -- if you need it. I'd discuss with your
optician/optometrist/opthalmologist.
Make sure the problems with focus you've identified are not really
attributable to camera shake. Also focusing aids are sometimes tough to
use with some subjects like people (portraiture). With a 1-13 screen it's
easy to get the ears in focus and render the eyes and nose fuzzy 8^(
