Subject: OM2N - Advice Please
Date: Mon, 22 Nov 1999 15:17:28 -0000
Christmas is coming and I need to sort my present from my wife.
The OM2n would seem a useful option given the otf metering.
Have been looking at an OM2n body, which is on sale for around £170
guaranteed for 12 months with an option for a further 2 years guarantee for
another £25.
Given that prices can fluctuate a lot, from what I have seen this wouldn't
be the cheapest price around (currently anything from £100-£180 depending on
the condition, this one has evidence of use but on the whole seems quite
clean).
The additional guarantee is an attraction.
Would the OM2n be a better option than the OM2SP from the point of view of
longevity (circuit boards for the OM2SP no longer available?) Is the OM2n
more "repairable"? There is an OM2SP available locally for around the same
sort of price, but not yet sure about the guarantee.
I was looking at a OM2 in a different store over the week-end. In the shop
window for £129.00. Unfortunately the meter was not working, therefore
appeared to be useless. How a reputable store can put something on sale like
this without apparently checking it first defeats me.
