I'm new to this Olympus group. I used a Canon FTBn for astro photography and
fell in love with all manual cameras. I decided to switch to Olympus so I'm
sellingt the FTBn and a few lenses on ebay.
Just 'won' an ebay auction of an OM-1 with soft case and Zuiko135mm f/3.5 with
hard case for $137.50 with shipping. I took a BIG chance with this auction. The
seller, a Japanese felow in L.A., did not have a photo of the equipment
uploaded. When I emailed him asking about dents scratches dings, etc., he said
the equipment didn't have any. He didn't even know what 'brassing' was, (or so
it appears).
I'm hoping for a near mint OM-1 and 135mm lens. I'm either going to get burnt
big time will make out like a bandit. The camera is "in the mail". I'll let the
group know how it all turns out when it finally gets here.
BTW: What's the consensus on the OM-2000? I saw the body and 35-70 zoom for
$200 at Camera World. Seemed like a decent deal. The spot metering, aluminum
body, and nice finish looks appealing. The lens looks cheap.
