Noel,
Your question is a little confusing. As far as I know, Vivitar
(Phoenix/Samyang) sells either a 17-28 or a 19-35.
The 17-28 is not recognized as a particularly good lens. The 19-35 is
better.
I own the 19-35, it has a fair amount of barrel distortion on 19mm, but this
is only noticeable when photographing straight lines. I used it on vacation
this spring and was quite happy with it, especially for ~$150.
The 21 Zuiko is a LOT SMALLER. Very nice lens. If cost is no object, and
different focal lengths are not needed, by all means go with the 21!

Subject: [OM] OM wide angle or vivitar zoom?
Hi Folks,
I'm new to the list, but am learning a lot from your dialogues. I guess I
am asking for opinions-which very wide angle lens to I buy? I appear to
have the choice of either a 21 mm zuiko or a 17-35 vivitar. I will use the
lens mostly for land/mountainscapes. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Noel
