These are my two OM bodies and I like them about equally. Ergonomically a
bit different, they behave in much the same way - Manual and TTL Auto modes,
OTF with dedicated flash etc. The main differences/advantages of each are:
The OM-2n is more substantially made; has longer shutter speed on auto;
interchangeable screens; detachable hotshoe; mechanical delayed action;
positive on/off switch and viewfinder meter needle pointers. Batteries
probably last much longer.
The OM-40 (PC) has an additional Program mode with switchable ESP;
electronic d/a with aperture 'prefire'; optional DX film code reading; film
ID window; rubberised hand grip and LED viewfinder signals.
I haven't noticed a particular shortage of the latter - indeed George S has
just posted that he has a very attractive sounding one for sale. More
difficult to obtain (in the UK at least) is the e.r.case for the OM-PC -
it's wider that the other OM cases to make room for the moulded grip.
