Having had both cameras (both purchased new), I believe the 20
minutes quoted in the manual is "worst case," and extremely
conservative. I'm sure I've gotten exposures of over an hour with ASA
400 film!
In fact, one of my "tricks" was to set it up on a tripod in a
darkened room, trip the shutter, then wait for someone to come in and
turn on the light. I seem to recall the shutter remaining open for
several hours before my housemate came in and took his own picture.
There were at least two OM-2 variations (with different weighting
patterns on the shutter). Could it be that the earlier one had no
"LED limiter" at all?
