It is difficult to say, one prediction is for the meteor maximum to
arrive about 0200 Universal Time. However, predictions of meteor
activity is not an exact science, mostly it is a best guess. If the
time prediciton is wrong and it peaks 4 to 8 hours earlier Australia is
in for the best show and if it is 4 to 8 hours later then the Americas
get the ringside seat. This is assuming there will be a real meteor
storm.
McNaught from the Australian National University believes there will be
a goodly meteor shower in 1999 and 2000 but a real storm to remember in
2001 and 2002. Others think 99 will be a bust.
Tune in and see. If its a real storm you'll have something to tell your
grandkids!
