"The Green Hornet" was a radio action/adventure program that was broadcast
1938- 1952. It was a program about a masked crime fighter
and his faithful companion. Yes, it was also created by the same people that
created the "Lone Ranger". In fact, the hero was a decendent of the
"masked man's" nephew. His faithful companion was a butler called Kato. It is
a urban legend/ myth that before WW2, Kato was Japanese. Then
during the war his ethnicity was changed to Chinese. After the war, he became
Korean because of the rise of communist China.
Those that have studied the old recordings have confirmed that this is ,in
fact, a myth and never happen. In truth, Kato's nationality was never
mentioned on the show. Flash forward to the seventies and you have the TV
version wath Bruce Lee playing the part of Kato and adding the
Gungfu element.Flash Forward again and you have Kato Kalin (?) as the pool
housekeeper for O.J.Simpson- definitle not a dynamic duo!
Olympus content- Thanks John for the explaination about the soft shutter
