Anyone used a Tamron 300/2.8 vs the Tokina 300/2.8? They appear on the
used market often.
PS: I'd expect the 250/2 or 350/2.8 to edge-out the third party lenses,
but's that's just my opinion.

Just a plug for the Tokina ATX 300mm 2.8. I have owned one for years and it
is an exceptional lens. It is light enough(relatively speaking!!) and its
focus ring is so easy to turn that I have actually hand held it and captured
eagles in flight by focusing with one finger. It is no longer available
new, but KEH had one recently and sometimes B&H does also. I have been
disappointed, however, with using the OM 2x converter with it, since they
are not matched.
