I have an OM-1n but no hot shoe for it. The Hot Shoe #4 is
pretty expensive and hard to find, so I figure that since the
only feature added by Shoe #4 is the Flash Ready LED in the
viewfinder, there is virtually no difference in function
between the Shoe #4 and Shoe #1 (or "Fix"). But, alas, as
all good Zuikoholics know, Shoe #1 and Shoe #4 are threaded
differently.
So here is the question (and this is not answered in the FAQ):
Which Hot Shoe is threaded which way? Which shoe is Shoe #2
and Shoe #3 compatible with in terms of threading (Shoe #1 or
Shoe #4)? If any of them is compatible with Shoe #4, it may
be easier/cheaper for me to find one of those instead of a
Shoe #4 for my OM-1n -- there is no TTL flash with the OM-1n
anyway. Of course, I am assuming that the shoe will work if
all I need is the center contact. Or am I way off on this?
