I presently own a OM1 and am happy with it however I was thinking of
purchasing a om4ti. I have seen a few at various camera shops but they
have been in terrible cosmetic condition and are still expected to sell
for over $600 cnd. I have also seen a body in brand new condition
selling for $1100cnd. In an attempt to save myself some money i
purchased a om2s but did not like the fact that center weighted metering
was not available in manual mode and that there was no averaging of
multiple spot readings. i returned the camera the other day and have
once again focussed on the 4ti. By coincidence a friend mentioned that
he might able to get me into a camera fair that might take place this
month. My concern about buying an expensive camera from a fair is that
I am probably going to be stuck with it if it fails after i purchase
it. In addition I would expect the pricing of cameras at a fair to be
much lower than those listed at camera shops.
What would be considered a good deal for a mint to like new Om4ti in
canadian funds. What are some other things I should beware of when
purchasing at a fair. In addition are there any 4ti's that eat up
batteries like the om4's? Are there any other issues I should be aware
of when looking to purchase an om4ti?
Oh yes, I also am hoping to find a motor drive 2 , any idea what they
sell for?
