I am being made to eat my own words. I agree in most applications
auto-focus is not needed , but I am speaking from a postion of shooting
sports proffesionally. Where one shot can make the difference when your
competing with other Pro's shooting the big name brands.

Now for most folks this does not apply and the simple point and shoot camera
will work. But what it tells me is Olympus has lost it's desire to focus
attention on the "PRO MARKET"

There is a saying , that if a business does not grow at least 3% a year , it
is actually getting smaller.

I was very excited when Olympus came out with the OM-2000. This showed me
they are at least listening. But , this camera falls short.

Olympus has never seemed to recover from the failed disaster of the OM-PC
and the OM-77. Canon's AE -1 and program captured the market . ( I know
AE-1 was not auto-focus but this is where the turn curve started.)

If anything, I would like to see an auto-focus pro-level camera that has
250th flash sync , flash auto bracketing , shutter priority and parts that
are available.

I would even accept if they farmed out the work to a Cossina or even Canon ,
if they did not want to invest into the development , for I realize this is
where the cost's get big.

I want to be able to keep the same equipment and I am trying to generate
interest and enthusiasm to those Olympus user's who are out here. But , if
the argument is , who cares! , the battle is lost and Olympus would have no
desire to pursue it.

What will we do if Olympus discontinues the OM-3ti and the OM-4Ti? No one
really seems to be buying them because of the cost. Remember this is my
opinion and what I feel.

Also , remember that 35mm at one time was consider amauterist. If it was
not for the better films that were invented and developed , perhaps we would
be with the larger format camera's still.

Thanks! Sam ....
