Very nice point, Brian.
George S.
P.S.- Why does it matter to some what kind of vehicle we drive, as if there's
a "right" and "wrong" type? If someone wants to pick a fight over that,
there's something wrong with their thinking. Sure, there's more "environment
friendly" vehicles than others, but where does it end? Should someone get mad
at us because we use cameras that take batteries and we *could* choose to
use a camera that doesn't take a battery, whether it's mercury, alkaline or
silver? Are we wrong for using Eveready 357s?
And where is it written that we can pick a fight with someone because their
OPINION differs from someone else's? Hey, everyone's entitled to their
opinion. You don't have to agree, that's YOUR right, but I can't see starting
a fight over it, because then it's just a short trip to- "You're an idiot
because you're a (fill in the blank) liberal, conservative, republican,
democrat, christian, jew, etc. etc.
There seems to be a few out there that takes it personal when someone doesn't
agree to YOUR views. We don't need that crap here. We're here to talk OM and
photo stuff. It's like if you call your friend on the phone and ask a
question about a particular topic. After that is taken care of, do you mean
to say no other topic can be discussed between those friends??!! If the
contributors to the list veer off a bit now and then, so what? It always
finds it's way back to OM-ville with one or two POLITE requests. Even if some
want the topic to continue, so what? Just delete the topics you don't want to
read. Whose list is it anyway? It belongs to ALL the readers and
contributors, not one. three, or twelve, but EVERYONE.
And if someone wants to leave, so be it. People come and go for lots of
reasons. If it's not enjoyable, then maybe it IS time for them to go.
Thanks for listening,
George S.
