That's really interesting. Mind explaining how/what it works/does?
AFAIK, R134a needs a completely different condensor/evaporator/compressor
system, along with synthetic oil for lubing. FOr one, R12 (freon) runs
under MUCH MUCH higher pressure than 134. I recall reading of some
retrofit that worked by installing some sort of valve in the plumbing.

<OM content--> spent late evening->dusk yesterday photo-ing passing cars
in front of our yard. I oddly felt benevolent towards bro, and handed him
the camera with 28/3.5 and a new roll of film. Only condition was that he
take all shots using tripod. So it was passing cars, all the way down to
1/4sec wide open. Will find out tomorrow how it went>
