I looked at your photos and it appears to be the same as my Slik InstaLok 500
or something or other. I broke it down to what I see in your photo 4th from
the top where there is this sort of mushroomy thing that the tripod attached
to. There I stopped and put the regular head back on. You would have to add
some type of 3/8 or 1/4" bolt upside down into the shaft for the head. It
looks as though your Bogen head takes the 3/8" size but even it you use 1/4
you can easily buy a Bogen adapter to fix this problem. I would keep on
looking for another lightweight tripod as adapting you present one might be
too costly. I have heard that Vivitar makes an OK inexpensive and light
tripod.
