You might want to check to see if you lab is using "Dip-and-dunk"
processing. If so, you will encounter two problems with many labs: The
ends of the rolls won't fully submerge in the chemicals (hence losing first
and last frames on roll) and the second problem that occurs is frames 17-19
may not fully escape the chemicals causing misprocessing.
I get 25 shots out of a 24 exposure roll and 37 on a 36. Even the IS-3
does this, but unfortunately frame 1 never is frame 1, so for
wedding/portrait work I typically blow off the first shot. I have gotten
39 shots with the OMs, but have lost so many leader shots I don't bother
anymore. Nothing worse than a hanging clip puncturing your prized image.
Speaking of labs, I will repeat that I experienced "WORLD-CLASS" E6
processing here in Des Moines, Iowa. Designed Images, Inc. did a supurb
job and every roll has been perfectly color balanced. There are no specs
(contaniments in the chemicals) nor were there nasty drying streaks and
stains. I haven't gotten quality processing like this since I regularily
used NEW-LAB five years ago. On top of all that, the mounting was
perfect--not a single mismount.

As some of you know, I have had a real love/hate relationships with labs
through the years. I hope that this lab continues with the
quality/consistancy that I've seen so far. I dislike driving 45 minutes
each way to get film processed, but it does give me a great excuse to head
off to the big city.
