Reasonable, Do you mean price or performace? If the latter then a 90mm f2
macro
with an extension tube or an 80mm f4 should suit you.

Does anyone know how a 90mm f2 + the close-up lens for the 80mm f4 performs?

A cheap camera the 4Ti is not. I think it more correct to say that if the
batteries
die 'you' have left it dead in the water if you aren't carrying spares. The
batteries in my 4Ti have been in it for close on a year now. It could be a
year as
I can not recall exactly when I put them in 8-)

Since you have an interest in macro photography you should take a look at the
Benbos
or Unilocks. They make short versions, which would be lighter, if you require
a
specialist tripod.
