E6 processing is not done with trays unless the film is sheet film. 35mm
E6 is done in a tank and the chemicals are usually in bottles. You
would need some deeeeep trays or shallow bottles to keep temperatures in
bottles of chemistry.

If memory serves me right, there are only two temperature critical steps
and the temps are not hard to hold with an aquarium heater and a large
amount of water. I used a deep 'dishpan' of the type used to wash
dishes and had no problems doing E6 at home or even in motel bathrooms
while on assignment.
