Some further experience.
I just completed a 2300 kilometer bicycle trip from Toronto to Halifax
carrying:
- OM4
- f/1.4 50mm
- f/3.5 21mm
- f/2.8 100mm
- 2x tele-extender with screw out lens to make a 25mm auto extension
tube.
(those were compact & light)
- f/3 200mm Vivitar Series 1 (not compact or light)
I found I used, in order of frequency, the 21mm. 200mm, 100mm, 50mm and
tele-extender with 200mm. The 50mm was used mainly for low light.
I also brought a (heavy) tripod that travelled all the way in the
luggage truck with only occasional use at campsites.
