Hi,
> >Anybody care to recommend lenses with good price/quality ratio ?
I have recently acquired the Zuiko 50/3.5 (2nd hand going price: $100 -
$150) which gives some excellent magnifications from infinity to 0.5x
lifesize. Also, I bought a set of Hama auto extension rings (2nd handed
price was $20), which have the following lengths: 13mm, 21mm, and 31mm.
When
used with the 50mm F1.8 lens they give magnifications of +/- 0.25x lifesize
to 1.4x lifesize, and I estimate that with the 50/3.5 you can go to
something like 1.6x lifesize or so (haven't calculated it yet).
This is probably about as cheap as it gets for getting a real (Zuiko!)
macro
lens. Of course you can also buy the Oly extension rings, but expect to pay
big bucks for them.
On a sidenote: you might want to consider a 1-12, 2-4 or 2-13 focusing
screen to be able to still see something in the viewfinder when working
with
long extensions and/or previewing the DOF.
Also, last weekend I have taken some test shots with the 4Ti + 50/3.5 +
13mm
ext. + F280 of a flower, I should have the results within a few days, so if
so desired, I can share them with you and let you know if that worked out
well or not...
Cheers!
