Joel,
I know, it's a bit ignorant of me, but I never saw scanning as a really
damaging. I travelled trough many airports, including far-off places like
Bamako "international" Airport (West Africa), small South American and
Caribbian airports, ..., and Heathrow! I allways bought my films (Velvia
mostly) at home, so they usually got scanned at least two times. I have
never seen any effects, no fogging or whatever. I think I read some article
where they had done some experiments and found that you have to take even a
fast film (> 400 ASA) through a scanner several times (> 20) before you get
the risk of an effect. This was > 100 times for slow films like those
Velvia's.
Has any of you Zuiks ever seen real "scanner-induced" fogging or other
problems?
Maybe I'm just a lucky zuik ...
Daan.
