Thanks to Charlie, John, Acer, Paul, and Hans for collective wisdom. I
failed to mention that the context for text quoted above was the section on
using the T32 with the camera in *manual mode*: title on the page is
"Manual Flash with the OM-4, OM-2n (OM-2), (GN32)." I agree that the
"dial" referred to is most likely the shutter speed "dial." And 1/30 gives
a buffer of one speed for booboos. The manual certainly seems to have been
written for a lowest common denominator of users: it also recommends using
f5.6 to "provide good results," which seems very conservative for a flash
with the power of the T32.
