: BUT THE SPOT METERING then? A contradiction, it seems. IT works as I want it
: to. Is there a different light metering when the SPOT is pressed? Not OTF??
If the spot meter worked off the film you had to waste one shot for every spot
reading you took. Well, unless you do multiple spot readings of one frame ;)
It is not even read OTC (off the curtain). Instead, light entering the camera
passes the semi-transparent main mirror, is reflected by the secunday mirror
behind it and hits the light sensor aimed at the curtain and film plane. The
light beams are not reflected by the curtain, however. The OM-4Ti manual
contains a camera cross-section diagram (mine has it on page 71/72) that shows
the difference in the light paths of OTF and spot metering.
