How well do they work together? Do you have a feel for sharpness of the

I haven't gone to the trouble that Gary has in his tests, but I
recall being satisfied with the results.
The real problem is that I just don't use the zoom that often in
order to have a decent impression of how it works with the 1.4x. If I
know I'm going to want the millimeters, I take a 300mm with me. If I
REALLY need millimeters, I take a mirror (I've got four, from 500mm
to 2032mm). I'm sure the mirrors don't perform like the 85-250, but
they're smaller and lighter (except for the 8" Celestron... :-)
