Thanks all for all replies, both on-list and off-list.
I really did not intend to start a thread, I just wanted to tell that
strange thing that happened. But I also feel I do have to reply to one
common thing that you write: that the BIOS battery may be the problem.
Now, this is *not* the case. As I wrote, perhaps a little unclear, the
problem appeared (I discovered it) suddenly while the computer was
running (I had the computer turned on for about a month without turned
it off at all).
The reason why I now this for a fact, is that I have been away for a few
days (and this is why this reply is rather late) and during this period
I had my computer turned off. Today I turned it on, and the date was
correct, so it cannot be the battery.
I once heard (and read) something about an "x-days-bug" (where "x" is a
number of days I can't recall), perhaps this was what I experienced. If
this is the case I will soon find out, as I will have this computer
turned on for another month or so.
So, once again: It cannot be the battery on the motherboard.
For you who mentioned Linux on and off-list:
I have been interested in Linux for more than a year, but I do have some
files that I am not sure I can convert into "Linux format", like some
Word and Excel files. I know there are a kind of "Office package" (Word,
Excel and the other stuff) for Linux, as well as Netscape Communicator,
but still I need to be sure I can convert some files into the new system
without losing data, until then I am stuck with Win 95.
If any one of you still want to comment or discuss this, let us do that
off-list. By all means, please feel free to write to me. Okay?
OM content:
It might be that I have converted my sister into use OM and Zuiko
instead of P&S, but that's not it: My mother also showed some interest
in the OM/Zuiko stuff, and she said she would like to re-learn how to
use manual cameras (OM).
Seems that the P&S-family slowly splitting up in two halves; OM and P&S
(non-OM). The good thing is that the OM-side is growing!
