I was in D.C. this morning to pick up my Japanese passport (renewal) and stopped
at one of the bookstores at Union Station.
The July/August issue I boughthas an article titled The Olympus OM System
Photography's Best Kept Secret by Douglas Dubler. He entered the Olympus world
through the IS-3 according to the article.
I find it interesting that he chose the following three lenses to go with his
OM-4Ti for his personal photography in Paris: 21mm/2, 35-80mm/2.8 zoom, and
100mm/2. I have once held the 35-80mm/2.8 attached to the OM-3Ti at the Olympus
Plaza in Tokyo. I found the combo not as heavy as I had thought, and I think
one of these days I would find an excuse to buy this lens.
In the same issue, the OM-1 (?) is used to illustrate the macro lighting
techniques. There are a few digital darkroom articles that are interesting. I
think that this issue is worth picking up.
Can anybody tell me where an inclusion of the OM2000 in the list of mechanical
SLR's was reported? I vaguely recall that someone mentioning this, but I never
saved the message.
