It's a fact Classic VW old chap: use of calculators in schools was bad
enough to reduce youngsters' abilities to do sums in their heads. When
I was teaching navigation (yes we used slide rules, circular ones called
Dalton Computers), the young, budding navs had great trouble doing drift
& groundspeed corrections in their heads because they had lost that part
of their brains through underuse.
I am considering taking my civilian airline pilot licences and they
require the use of a circular slide rule (in the UK at least). So where
can I buy one of those little Citizen watches?
Chris (getting tired of sounding old).
