I like my 50/1.4 better as a loupe, but would love to find a piece of
plexiglass to mount on it so it could sit a uniform distance
(allowing focusing) from the slide/pic/whatever.

I certainly haven't abandoned my 50 - its my favorite length for
shooting people. A roll of Tri-X, my OM-1n, and a 50, and I'm set to
cover the story.
